Cable operators expanded their Lines of Business (LOB) to include home security as a service offering to their subscribers. Home security provides self-monitoring of home security over broadband through a web enabled touch-screen console. This "over the top" home security system can be monitored via a home control console, remote console or mobile device and provides text messages, emails, or video streams when sensors are triggered.
